It’s that time of year again, it’s Super Bowl time! Although, I could careless about either team I still really enjoy the game and of course the food. The Super Bowl is like a holiday to me and my second favorite holiday next to the Fourth of July. My husband and I like to have people over and make a bunch of food. I always make my favorite taco dip that my mom introduced to me probably in the 90’s, its so addicting and so easy to make, it’s always a crowd pleaser.

I make this dip anytime I need to take something to a potluck or whenever we are having people over for a party. It’s perfect for anytime of the year and does not require a lot of time to make it, plus its pretty easy on the wallet. I spent less than $15 on everything not including the chips which I already had and the salsa was homemade that we canned at the end of summer.

Ingredients:

· 1 8oz pack of cream cheese softened at room temperature
· 1 packet of your favorite taco seasoning
· Guacamole, I use the 8 oz tub of Wholly Guacamole
· 1 small jar of salsa, I used homemade salsa that we canned this summer
· 1 cup of cheese, I used a Mexican blend but cheddar would be fine too
· 1-2 cups of shredded lettuce
· 1 Roma tomato, diced

Directions:

1. Once the cream cheese has softened add it to a mixing bowl with the taco seasoning. Mix well to combine.
2. Next, using a round pan like a pizza pan spread the cream cheese mixture evenly on the pan.
3. After the cream cheese layer, add a layer of each of the following, one on top of the other, guacamole, salsa, cheese, and lettuce.
4. The final touch is adding the diced tomatoes evenly on the top. Serve with fresh veggies or chips and enjoy!
