Need a new recipe for those bananas turning black on your counter? Check out the Banana Chocolate Chip Oat muffins, so easy to make and everyone will love them. 
You can make them and store them in your freezer for a morning you are short on time.  Just reheat in the microwave for 20 seconds!

As personal trainers, we often hear women say they don’t want to lift heavy wight because they don’t want to get bulky.  It’s a long running misconception that you will get “bulky” from lifting. So then why is gaining muscle such a bad thing? Adding weights or resistance into our workout routines gives us added benefits for the long term. 
Adding weights helps with our bones, gives us strength to carry our children, helps strengthen our back because at some point you know your partner will ask you to help move a couch. Strength also helps to reduce our risk of injury as we age, it burns fat (not just cardio 😉), can help increase your flexibility and balance.
I have been weight lifting on and off since high school, and I am now more consistent than I ever have been and I look forward to each day. I love that I can carry my 35lb 3 year when he gets tired of walking, pushing myself to get to higher weights and it also helps me to hit the golf ball farther 😜.
If you don’t have weights, resistance bands work as a great substitute ( I know where you can get a cute set 🥸). It’s Earth day so I thought today would be a perfect day to talk about how we are cutting down on waste.  I originally bought this little compost bucket from amazon last summer to put food scraps in and put them in our garden.  It lasted about 2 wks. So, the bin got pushed to the side until March ish when Caleb started looking into it more and after we had a slight mishap with our garbage disposal that we really figured out what to do and how to do it.  We started by putting our little pail under the kitchen sink and any time we have raw fruit or veggie scraps we throw them in there which includes banana and orange peels, the ends off peppers and cucumbers etc, as well as egg shells and coffee grounds.  Compost needs to be just the right of wetness but not too much and not dry so to even out the coffee grounds and the foods breaking down we add shredded paper and card board boxes.
We quickly leaned that our little pail wasn’t going to cut it especially because it isn’t really time to add this too our garden yet, so within a week we purchased a 37 gallon tumbling composter from Amazon (things I never thought I would do or say) and we (mostly Caleb) now have a system down.  We do a “starter” in our under the sink pail, some shredded paper, coffee grounds, egg shells then veggie and fruit scraps until it is full, then (this is where it really becomes extra) Caleb uses our food processor to grind it up, we didn’t do this step at first so we now have two sides of composter going to see which one will be better, finely ground and lightly chopped scraps. Then we throw it into our bin outside,we give it a nice tumble every 5-6 days.  It is relatively low maintenance, no added cost once you actually purchase your bins, it will go straight on our garden once ready and it has cut down on our garbage so much.  I didn’t realize how much food scraps, coffee grounds, paper, cardboard etc we were throwing out before. Our trash comes on Thursday’s and we haven’t had a full bin since before March. 
The internet is full of people talking about this so feel free to do your own research as well, this is just what we do.  We aren’t out here changing the world just trying our best.

Haven’t touch many veggies or worked out in 2 wks, haven’t done much of anything 🙄. Feeling grateful for my husband and family for helping me out so much even when I say I don’t need it 😬. 
Kidney stones suck but hopefully this will all be over soon. But for now enjoying my favorite snack and a book. Not pictured lots of water and meds.

Having my own business was never something I thought would happen, it’s a lot of hard work, no days off, constantly thinking, planning and worrying if I am making the right choices.  One thing I do know is that I love my clients, I love working with them, teaching them how to live a balanced lifestyle, giving them the extra motivation they need to reach their goals.  I love creating new workouts for each person, helping them to change that mindset from many years of extreme dieting and working out or just helping them create new sustainable habits that will last a life time. It’s a beautiful day in the neighborhood, gives me hope that spring is near and soon to be summer!! Spent most of the day outside enjoying Aiden’s spring break, we aren’t going anywhere but have fun activities planned each day for chance to get outside and give us a break from our normal week. Today included a trip to the library for some books for the week and 2 park stops on the way home. 
Dinner deets:
-Fired up the ‘ol @webergrills to grill our chicken. Seasoned w/avo oil and Weber beer can chicken seasoning.
-Air fried B size potatoes w/ avo oil and @primalpalate super gyro seasoning. 
-Romaine, cucumbers, cherry tomatoes and hard boiled eggs. 
Here’s to warmer days, more salads 😍and more grilled meats!!

For your weekend baking enjoyment! Thin Mint Cheesecake….yep it’s just as amazing as it sounds.  I got the idea for this last weekend and it lived up to all my expectation lol.  It has just the right amount of mint flavor, not overwhelming but can still taste it with each bite.

Cauliflower fried rice with a little added chicken and a drizzle of coconut aminos! This is the only version of cauliflower I like, I buy this in the freezer section of Costco and just have to warm it up on the stove, it’s a quick and tasty lunch. 
Reminder, you do not have to substitute foods you do not like to make a meal “healthier” bc someone once said cauliflower was the end all be all.  This is the only way I like cauliflower and no longer pretend to eat it or like it as a substitute for all my favorite things. 
If you are trying to eat healthier don’t make yourself miserable by forcing yourself to eat foods you hate or cut out food groups bc they have been thought of as bad for you by the health and wellness industry. New lunch idea coming in hot! Using things I already had on hand, a little bit of rotisserie chicken I bought at Costco today and the frozen veggies I prepped last week this was the perfect warm lunch on a snowy day (in March 😩).
Lunch:
-Snack bag size of the frozen veggies I prepped last week
-Hand full of leftover tortellini’s
-1/2 cup shredded chicken
-5 cherry tomatoes halved-
-Drizzle of Tessemae’s balsamic vinaigrette 
In a skillet over medium high heat drizzle a little bit of olive oil or avocado oil in the pan, once warmed add the frozen veggies and cook until they are soft with a slight char about 5-7 minutes, I prefer a lot of char so cooked mine closer to 10.  Add the tortellini and chicken, cook until warm about 3-4 mins. Mix it all together well I also added some Trader Joe’s everyday seasoning.  Add to a bowl or plate, add the halved tomatoes and drizzle of balsamic vinaigrette.  Quick and filling lunch in under 15mins and no chopping of veggies!

New lunch idea coming in hot! Using things I already had on hand, a little bit of rotisserie chicken I bought at Costco today and the frozen veggies I prepped last week this was the perfect warm lunch on a snowy day (in March 😩).

Lunch:
-Snack bag size of the frozen veggies I prepped last week
-Hand full of leftover tortellini’s
-1/2 cup shredded chicken
-5 cherry tomatoes halved-
-Drizzle of Tessemae’s balsamic vinaigrette

Recorded my workout on Monday bc I am finally getting back into the working out I love.  The last few months I have felt very unmotivated and just blah all around.  January was a hard month, really cold, kids constantly sick and just not wanting to do much.  Going downstairs to workout was more of chore than fun.  I kept trying to pull myself out of my funk but didn’t work.  I had no problem motivating my clients but motivating myself wasn’t happening.  Last week I was having terrible shoulder and neck pain so I had to rest. But, I woke up Monday morning ready to go, I was ready to go hard again and finally getting out of my funk.  It’s no joke when people say the weather affects their mood, I definitely saw that this winter.  The temperatures are showing signs of spring and I am ready to be outside,  to golf and get shit done! 
I definitely noticed my body changing from not lifting very much and started getting self conscious in my videos and showing myself.  Normally that would send me straight into spiral mode, restrictive eating and working out when my body was sore or injured. But, something in me has finally changed and I thought who cares? No one notices that one spot that I over analyze and the best part I am showing you a realistic body.  Most trainers have amazing bodies that they work really hard on which is cool, I work hard on mine too but I also am enjoying eating more intuitively and not working out every single day.  Just because I look differently than your regular trainers on IG doesn’t mean I am not qualified to help you.  Also, need to remember that IG is a highlight reel and ppl have the ability to edit those photos and videos, you will not find that here.  I once added a little filter to give myself more of tan and still feel guilty about that! 
I offer you a realistic approach to health and fitness, give you the motivation you need to just move your body and will help you achieve any goals you may have in a realistic way.

Circuit 1: 
-Lat pulldown
-Plank toe touches
-Seated Shoulder Press
-Lateral Bear Crawl
Circuit 2: 
-Single rear delt fly 
-Reverse Crunch 
-Around the world’s (forgot to record)
-Dead bugs

Meal prep tip for anyone going through a busy season.  I had really been loving the roasted veggies that Costco had in their frozen section, came in separate meal sized bags but I haven’t been able to find them in a few months.  They are great to add veggies to a quick dinner or lunch.  I don’t want to spend precious time during the day chopping a bunch of veggies for lunch when I could just find something else. 
On my last grocery store run I picked everything up to do it myself.  Today I chopped everything up which took 10 mins, added it to a big bowl stir it up so everything would be somewhat even, then portioned them out to baggies and threw them in the freezer until I am ready to use them.  Super easy and will be a time saver in the future.
What I used:
1 1/2 peppers (red and orange)
1/2 yellow onion
1/2 bunch of asparagus
1 zucchini
1 yellow squash
You can use whatever veggies you want, when I cook them I will heat a skillet on medium high heat, add olive oil, little garlic, and favorite seasoning.  Cook or about 10 mins until everything is soft!

Hi friends I have a huge announcement 📣📣well huge to me anyways 😉. At the end of last year, I was very overwhelmed with all the things I had to do but also wanted to do.  I wanted to have this amazing website where clients and future clients could go to for info as well as still sharing recipes and other stuff on my blog but I hated my website, I realized that this is not my strong suite, I just sat and stared at this website not sure what to do to make it better and getting frustrated because web design doesn’t come naturally to me.
Randomly, @sistersmarketingandco local women-owned marketing, web design company started following me on IG so I stalked their page for a while 😂 did a deep dive into their website, and just felt the pull to reach out to them.  So I messaged them and jumped on a call that afternoon to talk about what they could do to help me with a new website.  So after talking with Caleb we decided to go for it and hired those lovely ladies to give me a whole new website and it’s finally done!!! 
Asking for help isn’t easy for me and even though I paid them it was still hard to release control and I am so happy that I did.
